Key West Lobsterfest
For the last 22 years, Key West has thrown a huge summer party in August to celebrate the opening of Lobster Season. Thousands descend on Duval Street for the street fair and lobster feast available from the the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico. And it’s for a good cause! Key West Lobsterfest donations are made to local students for college scholarships.
The 23rd Annual Key West Lobsterfest celebrates the opening of Lobster Season with the biggest party of the summer.
It's all about the lobster this week, so try some of these preparations you're likely to find:
Conch & Lobster Ceviche
Caribbean Lobster with Rum
Coconut Curried Lobster
Lobster Rolls
Grilled - always a favorite
and other creative and delicious tastes
Events during the four-day festival include the Lobster Boil Thursday night, the Duval Crawl Friday night, free concert and street fair Saturday, and a lobster brunch at the Smokin Tuna Saloon on Sunday.
