On an idyllic spot in the green hills of the PERIGORD is Les Gites Fleuris. Far from the hectic world, reminiscent of country life of the 18th century, you will enjoy only the sounds of nature, with a stunning panoramic view over hills, fields, forests and small villages. Relax by lazing around on the sunny terrace, in the Pool or Jacuzzi. Let the peace and tranquility of the surroundings envelope you. All life’s necessities are an easy 1km walk down a country lane, so even though you feel “away from it all”, you are not! At 2km is the Magnificent Chateau de Hautefort and the medieval village!
La Wisteria is a traditional stone Perigordian Farmhouse with fully equipped kitchen and living room with large stone fireplace. The 3 bedrooms, all upstairs, have the traditional feature of beamed ceilings and fantastic views of the valley from the windows. There are 2 balconies, one enjoys the morning sun, and the other is a great place to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset over the valley.
You have an outdoor dining terrace with barbeque, a wonderful place to relax over a home cooked meal!
Les Gites Fleuris is family friendly with pool, jacuzzi, acreage, children's play area with swings, climbing wall, raised fort, slide, and volley/badminton net. There is an indoor games room with games, toys, ping pong, etc...and a central laundry room with washer and dryer and free WiFi.
A wonderful Place to relax after site seeing! And HAUTEFORT is perfectly located to explore the Dordogne Region! The most amazing sites are within a 1hour radius!
Dordogne has something for everyone! 1001 Castles, CroMagnon Caves, Medieval Villages, Open air Markets, Roman ruins, etc.... This area has so much history that it is sure to capture the imaginations and interests of everyone in the family!
ahhh the Food! Parisians say “you’ll eat well in the Perigord”! This little corner of Southwest France is home to the black truffle, one of the most famous and expensive luxury foods of France. (Truffle Markets are open in Winter!) It is also the land of foie gras-- that typical French delicacy made from fattened goose or duck liver, along with other Canard specialty dishes. Our guests have often said that the best meal they ate in the Perigord was here, in Hautefort! The wine regions of Bergerac and Bordeaux are only 1-1.5 hr away!

If you love architecture and enjoy exploring in an area where medieval architecture is a part of life, then look no further. The area is steeped in history, and this is reflected in the stunning architecture prevalent throughout the whole of the region.
As tourists to France will already know, this area is jam packed with castles. It is said there are more than one thousand castles including Hautefort, Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, Beynac, Biron and Bourdeilles.
The area is mostly un-spoilt and sparsely inhabited which means that the countryside is wonderfully tranquil and pretty. The landscape is mainly composed of gently rolling hills rather like those found in the Cotswolds, only here you will find expansive, mature, deciduous woodland where you can wander at your leisure and enjoy the shade and the rich variety of birds and vegetation. The hillsides and valleys are generally a mix of fields with crops such as sunflower and maize alongside lush cattle meadows, as well as rough countryside often hosting rare plant-life such as orchids, and of course there are the rivers.
All life's necessities are an easy walk done the country lane-1km to bakery, bar, restaurant, bank, supermarket (with and international foods section, butcher, etc...). 2km to the office of tourism, doctor (that speaks english), pharmacy, post office, and more excellent restaurants!
Perigord is THE place to go if you love FOOD, especially truffles and foie gras. This little corner of Southwest France is home to the black truffle, one of the most famous and expensive luxury foods of France. It is also the land of foie gras-- that typical French delicacy made from fattened goose or duck liver, along with other regional French dishes.
Many famous grottes (caves), Bastille towns, castles, and old medieval villages are less than 1-hour drive away (Lascaux is only 20 minutes).
