The surroundings: Cairo Montenotte is a charming medieval town of 14,000 residents and is a mere 5 minutes drive from the estate. Here you'll find all you need in terms of grocery stores, small shops, restaurants, supermarkets and cafes to have a leisurely cup of espresso or cappuccino. Near the house there is a hospital with a first aid services.
The Mediterranean coast is a mere 24 kilometers drive. You can take the motorway or the ancient Via Aurelia which winds down the hills offering spectacular views. In Savona you'll find public beaches and beaches were you pay for a reclining chair and changing facvilities, a marina, fashionable shopping, restaurants and night life. From Savona you can go along the Mediterranean coast in either direction (called the flower Riviera) where you'll find delightful sea side villages and beaches. Within an hour's drive there are two towns well worth a visit: Genova and Torino. Genova is an ancient port with palaces converted to museums and the university town Torino has a beautiful historic centre.
