Figtrees was built by us in 1990/91. We chose the site as the view was outstanding. We can watch the boats and people coming to and fro, and the islands changing colour as the day goes on. We are above the bustle and noise of the port, and get a cooling breeze during the hot weather.

Additional Information About Rental Rates:
Figtrees is booked in your name when you have paid the 20% booking deposit. The balance is payable 6 weeks before you are due to go. The deposit is fofeited if you cancel, unless I am able to get another booking for that time, in which case I refund you your deposit. Early booking, (by six months or more), gets a 10% reduction. Late booking of 1 week ahead gets a 20% reduction.
Please have a good time. It has always been a happy house. Just treat the house with respect, as you would your own, and write something in our visitors book, do drawing for us, or write a poem.
My wife Vera has alzheimers disease now, and doesn't travel, but she would rejoice with me that you are. Having a great time.

Carol and Mike Holmes, who look after the house for us, will take you out in their sailboat, if you wish, or help you in any way they can.

Alonissos is a green island, as we get appreciable rain in the winter, and usually some summer rain, sometimes with spectacular lightning and thunder. There can be snow in the winter, up to 1/2 a metre, but it doesn't last.
