For a unique experience, stay awhile in Boonara's roomy and comfortable Self-contained B&B Cottage in country rural Australia located just 2 hours from the beaches on Queensland's Sunshine Coast and 3 hours from Brisbane. Easy to get here...you will find us on the Burnett Highway...all sealed roads. The Cottage is set in beautiful gardens situated on the grounds of the historic grand colonial Boonara Homestead which was built in 1862 for David Jones of Department Store fame. Your accommodation allows you to soak up the atmosphere of grander 'days gone by' while still giving you your privacy. The Cottage is built in a colonial style with 3 screened-in verandas where you can relax and catch a breeze while taking in the stunning views in every direction or maybe study the stars at night without the bugs to bother you.

Boonara's Cottage has Reverse-cycle Air Conditioning, Flat Screen TV with Free to air Channels & Cable TV,  DVD's, CD's, Books, Stereo @ I Pod, Board Games and Toys for the kids. Sleeping arrangements are 1 Queen-size bedroom (with plenty of storage space) and 1 Sofa bed set up in the loungeroom (good quality @ Mattress Topper), 1 bathroom @ Separate Shower, Bath, Vanity and a fully equipped kitchen.

Included in your tariff is a Guided Tour of the Homestead by the owners Rob & Lorraine, which takes you on a journey back to 1842 when white settlement began at Boonara Station which was then a Pastoral Holding of 172,000 acres. You will be shown many collectables, antiques, photos etc. that go along with the 'century-old' stories. A stroll down by the Vineyards to the original Homestead Cemetery is a part of the Tour for those who wish to explore more. Take a ride in the old 1926 Chev Mail Truck maybe or give a few carrots to our old Clydsdale horse 'Clyde' who just loves the attention. We will greet you on arrival and once settled in, we can have a Devonshire Tea (Freshly made Scones, Jam & Cream) ready for you to enjoy.  Also in your Cottage you will find some complimentary Port & Chocolates. All linen is supplied. Cheese Platters can be arranged. Breakfast supplies ...Cereal, Bread, Milk, Juice, Yoghurt, Fruit are included. A 'country-style' cooked breakfast or an evening meal can be provided with prior notice but this is at an extra cost. A Restaurant/Bistro is located at the local Pub in Goomeri as well as Take-Away Cafes. Goomeri is a 10 minute drive from Boonara. Or else you are welcome to cater for yourself in the well equipped full size kitchen.

For those who wish to get 'out and about' we have a good local knowledge on the many tourist attractions of the South Burnett region. Along with the quaint village of Goomeri there are many other small country towns and 'things to see & do' in between... all within a short driving distance. Wineries, Dairy & Timber Museums, Art Galleries, National Parks & Dams, Golf Courses.
